We are currently seeking a Year 9 SEN Teacher to join a supportive academy in Coventry. This role is ideal for someone who is driven to make a real impact in the lives of students who require additional support to succeed academically and emotionally.

This school, located on the Coventry/Warwickshire border, offers a safe and nurturing environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including ADHD, ASD, and attachment disorders. With a recently refurbished campus, extensive outdoor spaces, and a tailored curriculum, it provides a holistic educational experience. The school focuses on academic achievement, personal development, and preparing students for adulthood. Using a spiralling curriculum and therapeutic support, students are empowered to reach their full potential. About the Role:

As a Year 9 SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons to students with SEMH needs. You will work within a nurturing environment that emphasises both academic progress and emotional well-being. The academy’s curriculum is individualised to support each student’s unique learning style, and as a Year 9 SEN Teacher, you will play a key role in ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Your role will include teaching core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science, while also supporting the development of vital life skills. You will be using therapeutic approaches to address the emotional and social challenges that many of these student's face, helping them to navigate their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Tailored Lessons: Create engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of Year 9 students.
  • Support Emotional Growth: Help students build resilience, self-regulation, and social skills.
  • Track Progress: Regularly assess and provide feedback on both academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with Team: Work with staff to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage Independence: Foster self-motivation and independence in students' learning.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience teaching students with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, or related needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • A passion for supporting students in overcoming their barriers to learning and personal development.
