Secondary School Teacher / ECT – The Role:

As a Secondary School Teacher / ECT, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
• Assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing intervention strategies when needed.
• Creating a positive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, personal development, and strong student engagement.
• Collaborating with colleagues to refine teaching practices and contribute to the school’s wider educational goals.
• Managing classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and focused learning environment.
• Supporting extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment programs.
• Participating in professional development opportunities, ensuring continued growth as an educator.

Secondary School Teacher / ECT – Candidate Requirements:

We are looking for motivated individuals who are ready to take on a full-time, long-term teaching role with no supply work involved. Ideal candidates will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS (for ECTs).
• Strong subject knowledge in their specialist area and a passion for teaching.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
• A desire to contribute to the school community beyond the classroom.

Salary & Career Progression:

• Paid according to the Main Pay Scale (MPS), ranging from £31,650 to £43,607, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Opportunities for additional responsibilities and TLR payments for experienced candidates.
• Schools provide structured career pathways, supporting teachers in developing leadership skills, subject specialisms, and even progressing into middle and senior leadership roles.
