Position: Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Islington, North London
Salary: £25,000 Per annum

A welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Islington is seeking a passionate and dedicated graduate to join their team as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting young students in their early learning journey, particularly in core subjects such as English and Maths
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons suitable for primary-aged children
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional assistance
  • Encouraging students to develop essential literacy, numeracy, and social skills
  • Supporting classroom management and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
  • Assisting in the creation of lesson materials, activities, and resources
  • Engaging in extracurricular activities and school-wide events
  • Receiving training and mentorship, with an opportunity to progress into a formal teacher training programme

Candidate Requirements:

  • A graduate from a leading university, preferably Oxbridge or Russell Group
  • Strong academic background with a keen interest in primary education
  • Passion for working with young children and supporting their academic and social development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning and teaching
  • Prior tutoring, mentoring, or classroom experience is desirable but not essential
