A progressive secondary school in Northallerton is seeking several dedicated Pastoral Support Workers to join their Education Support Team. This school is currently undergoing an exciting transformation, led by a forward-thinking headteacher who is committed to enhancing the educational experience for all students. As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with classroom teachers to implement effective behavior management strategies and individualized support plans tailored to the needs of students with SEMH and SEN. Your work will not only help students manage their behavior and emotional needs but also foster a positive learning environment that encourages personal development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEMH and SEN as a Pastoral Support Worker, assisting them in managing their behavior and emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement behavior management strategies that promote positive behavior and engagement.
- Engage with students in various settings, supporting their social and emotional development as a Pastoral Support Worker.
- Maintain order around the school site, ensuring all students access education to the best of their abilities
- Help create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that allows all students to thrive.
Character Specification:
- Essential experience in SEMH, SEN, or behaviour management.
- A strong desire to make a difference in the lives of young people from diverse backgrounds with a range of needs.
- Background experience in children’s homes, alternative education provisions, or similar environments is highly desirable.
- Graduates in Psychology, Education, Health and Social Care, or related fields (2.1 or higher) are encouraged to apply.
