We are seeking a skilled Nominated Person to join our Isolation Team. This vital role involves ensuring that isolation procedures are conducted safely and in full compliance with industry standards across live railway environments.

Role Overview:
As a Nominated Person for the Isolation Team, you will take on a key responsibility for ensuring that isolation processes are planned and implemented safely and in accordance with all relevant procedures. Your expertise will be essential in providing oversight and ensuring that isolations are effectively managed to protect workers and the integrity of the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Nominated Person for isolations on railway infrastructure, ensuring compliance with Network Rail’s standards and regulations.
• Oversee and coordinate the planning and execution of isolation work, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with risk assessments.
• Supervise the isolation and de-isolation of electrical, mechanical, and trackside systems, ensuring that all necessary safety precautions are followed.
• Issue isolation certificates and ensure that all work is logged and documented according to company procedures.
• Liaise with the Control Centre, site teams, and project managers to ensure that all isolations are carried out in line with operational requirements and safety standards.
• Provide leadership and direction to teams working in isolation areas, ensuring that only authorised personnel are allowed to access these zones.
• Conduct audits and safety checks to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of isolation procedures.
• Respond to any issues, emergencies, or non-compliance events related to isolation activities and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of all isolation activities, ensuring that documentation is submitted in a timely manner.

Skills & Experience:

• Nominated Person certification for isolation work within the rail industry.
• Previous experience in isolation roles within the rail sector.
• Strong understanding of isolation procedures, safety protocols, and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with Network Rail’s standards, regulations, and trackside safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work across different teams and departments.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under pressure.
• Ability to act decisively and take responsibility for safety on-site.

Desirable:

• Additional qualifications such as COSS (Controller of Site Safety) or ES (Engineering Supervisor) would be advantageous.
• First Aid certification.
• Previous experience working on large rail infrastructure projects.
