Duties:

Management Accountant

Location: Stoke

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 16.45pm and Friday 8.00am - 16.30pm

Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum

 

Role Overview:

We are collaborating with our client based in Stoke in the search for an experienced Management Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full account's function and contributing to internal reporting for the operational teams.

Applicants should be AAT qualified, part ACCA/CIMA qualified, or have equivalent experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Accounts Manager and Financial Director
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including departmental profit & loss and group balance sheet reports
  • Ensure the month-end close process is accurate and timely
  • Prepare and analyse profit and loss statements for management, providing insights into financial performance
  • Handle month-end and weekly tasks such as payment runs, payroll preparation, PAYE, CIS, and quarterly VAT returns
  • Perform bank reconciliations, maintain payroll compliance, and manage the fixed asset register
  • Assist with audit preparation
  • Extract data from internal systems to produce summaries and departmental reports
  • Participate in projects related to profitability and other financial matters
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to achieve shared goals and meet deadlines
  • Address accounting queries internally and externally
  • Use Xero and related reporting software for accounting tasks
  • Present data clearly and concisely in a professional manner
  • Complete general ad hoc accounting duties as required

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • AAT Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Capable of working independently, using initiative, or as part of a team
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and demonstrating a "can-do" attitude
