History Graduate Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing: As a History Graduate Teaching Assistant, your role will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills
- Assisting with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring students are engaged in the curriculum
- Supporting students during class discussions and group activities, encouraging creative thinking and effective communication
- Helping students with revision techniques and exam preparation, ensuring they are ready for assessments
- Encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills, analysis, and a passion for literature
- Supporting classroom management, ensuring a focused and productive learning environment
- Collaborating with the Humanities department and other teaching staff to meet the needs of all students, including those with additional learning needs
History Graduate Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in History, or a related subject
- Strong academic background (A-levels/GCSE’s)
- A genuine passion for History and a desire to inspire students to achieve their best
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Previous experience in tutoring or educational support is desirable but not essential
- Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting individual student needs
- A proactive attitude, with a strong desire to support students in their academic and personal growth
- An interest in pursuing a career in education
