Health & Social Care Graduate – The Role

  • Long-term, full-time Health & Social Care Graduate role starting September 2025
  • Earn up to £530 per week depending on experience
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with complex needs, many of whom are in wheelchairs or hospital beds.
  • Assist students with speech and communication development, using specialist techniques such as PECS, Makaton, and assistive communication devices.
  • Support students with transitioning into adulthood, helping them develop essential life skills and prepare for post-education opportunities, including independent living, community integration, and vocational pathways.
  • Work closely with speech & language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and educational psychologists to implement tailored support strategies.
  • Offer personal care and medical support, ensuring students’ physical and emotional well-being at all times.
  • Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and valued.

Health & Social Care Graduate – Candidate Requirements

  • A 2:1 or higher degree in Health & Social Care, Psychology, Speech & Language Therapy, or a related subject.
  • High levels of empathy, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in Post-16 mentoring, SEN support, or roles focused on preparing young people for adult life is highly advantageous.
  • A driving license and access to a car is beneficial but not required due to the location and nature of the role.
