Health & Safety Manager

£45,000.00 - £55,000 (DOE) + Performance related bonus

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate, reporting to our Factory Manager, will join our FMCG production/manufactuing team.  With a passion for continuous improvement and improving cross-department ways of working, the Health & Safety Manager will have a strong focus on aligning approach and processes as well as ensuring compliance with legislation, reporting and adopted standards. 

  • Be accountable for ensuring the site’s health & safety management systems are up to date and are compliant with health & safety legislation
  • Act as a source of information and advice to maintain site statutory compliance
  • Assist with the management of site health & safety projects, training and risk assessments, working with departmental teams to ensure all are kept up to date and accessible
  • Ensure all health & safety related issues above manager level are reported to the site Factory Manager and Operations Director as applicable
  • Promote health & safety standards and behaviours by leading by example, coaching others and challenging unsafe practises and behaviours
  • Lead on ensuring the site OHSMS ISO 45001 certification is maintained
  • Provide support to department managers in relation to control of chemicals and CoSHH assessment
  • Supports the Senior Leadership Team in creating an engaging and proactive safety culture.
  • Must lead by example in embracing the two principles; to offer only the finest products and continuously challenge the status quo

Skills & Experience Required

  • Hold NEBOSH General Certificate – pre 2018 specification
  • First Aid Trained
  • Level 2 Food Safety
  • Fire Marshall Trained
  • Experience of conducting internal audits
  • Experience working in a Health & Safety role within food manufacturing
  • Construction Design Management (CDM) Awareness and Responsibility Training
