Graduate Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of lessons, helping students understand key concepts and materials.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who need additional help.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement during lessons and activities.
  • Support the classroom teacher in managing student behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of learning resources and materials.
  • Observe and report on student progress, offering feedback to both students and teachers.
  • Help students develop key study skills, including time management, organization, and exam preparation.

Graduate Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in any subject.
  • A passion for supporting young people and helping them succeed academically.
  • Prior experience working with students (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting individual students’ needs.
  • A desire to pursue a career in education or related fields, such as teaching, educational psychology, or youth work.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
