Pay: Up to £550 per week

Do you hold a 2;1 or higher in a Speech & Language Therapy degree, or related degree such as Linguistics or Psychology?

This is an exceptional opportunity to work as a Graduate Speech & Language Assistant in a Specialist School in Sheffield, supporting a large and varied cohort of students, all of whom have speech and communication needs ranging from mild to highly complex.
Graduate Speech & Language Assistant - Person Specification
- Degree: A 1st or 2:1 degree in Speech and Language, Linguistics, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Aspirations: Ideal for graduates aiming to become Speech and Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists, or professionals in adjacent fields.
- Experience: Previous experience in SEN or similar settings is welcomed but not essential.
- Skills: Resilience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting SEN students are essential.
- Transport: A driving licence and access to a car are desirable but not mandatory.
Graduate Speech & Language Assistant - Job Description
- Start Date: Interviewing Feb 2025
- Pay: Up to £550 per week
- Schedule: Full-time, long-term Graduate Speech & Language Assistant role, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Role Overview: As a Graduate Speech & Language Assistant, you will work closely alongside educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and other professionals to deliver tailored support to students.
As a Graduate Speech & Language Assistant, you will:
- Provide direct support to students with EHCPs and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
- Use your academic expertise to create and deliver interventions that promote engagement and progress.
- Support students across a range of abilities, from those with profound and complex needs to those with milder communication challenges.
- Assist in fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child feels supported and valued.
