Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification
- A degree (2:1 or higher preferred) in Psychology, Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing personality with a passion for working with children with additional needs.
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., SEN support, youth work, tutoring, or care work) is desirable but not essential.
- A strong ability to build positive relationships with students, offering encouragement and tailored support.
- An adaptable and proactive approach to helping children engage with their learning in a way that suits their individual needs.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Job Specification
- Full-time, long-term Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role
- Earn up to £520 per week.
- Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and sensory processing disorders.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions to help children develop key social, communication, and academic skills.
- Work closely with experienced SEN teachers and therapists, learning valuable skills in behaviour management and differentiation.
- Assist in creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and supported.
- Gain specialist SEN training and hands-on experience that will prepare you for a career in SEN education, psychology, or therapy.
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM – term-time only.
