Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with various SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and behavioral challenges.
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum by adapting materials and teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills, helping them build confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create effective learning strategies and interventions.
- Contribute to the monitoring and assessment of student progress, providing feedback to the team to ensure continuous improvement.
- Foster an inclusive environment where every student feels valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in a relevant subject such as Psychology, Education, Sociology, or a related field.
- Some prior experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs (ideal but not essential).
- A genuine passion for SEN and a commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of students.
- A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop in the field of SEN education.
- An interest in pursuing a career in SEN, education, or related fields.
