Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Outstanding Primary School in Sutton Coldfield – January 20th Start

An Outstanding primary school in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a dedicated Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to start from January 20th. This full-time Gradute SEN Teaching Assistant role offers the chance to work closely with Year 6 students, providing tailored support to ensure their success.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • A recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, Humanities, or a related field
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable
  • A passion for supporting students with a range of needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, attachment, trauma, and emotional/behavioural challenges
  • Able to adapt teaching materials and strategies to support individual students, including delivering interventions and pre/post-tutoring
  • Willing to support students with health needs, including diabetes management and sensory circuits
  • Support the class teacher with lesson planning, classroom management, and delivering engaging lessons
  • Build positive relationships to help students develop confidence, social skills, and self-regulation

Gradute SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with diverse learning needs
  • Adapt the curriculum to ensure every student can access and progress in their learning
  • Assist with delivering sensory circuits and other therapeutic interventions
  • Support students with executive functioning skills such as time management, organization, and self-regulation
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and supported
  • Collaborate with teachers and professionals to track and monitor student progress
  • Maintain strong communication with families and external professionals

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Role Details:

  • Full-time, term-time only (Monday to Friday)
  • Competitive weekly salary of £500-£550
  • Start date: January 20th, with the potential for an extended role
