 A specialist SEN school in Sheffield is seeking an empathetic and resilient Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This school supports approximately 250 students aged 11-19 with a wide spectrum of needs. From hospital bed-bound or wheelchair-dependent learners to students with advanced communication skills, the environment is highly demanding but profoundly rewarding.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Competitive pay rate: Up to £550 per week
  • Full-time, long-term Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role in Sheffield
  • Sociable working hours between 8 and 4, Monday to Friday
  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to help students overcome barriers to learning
  • Support students in a hydrotherapy pool, where you’ll help ensure safety and engagement
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team, including speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and medical professionals
  • Engage in extensive CPD opportunities, including training in SEN strategies, de-escalation techniques, safe handling, and personalised interventions
  • Work closely with students who may require personal care, such as assistance with feeding, toileting, and daily routines
