Graduate SEN Student Mentor
SEN School – Students aged 3-16 – Morden, Merton
Are you a graduate who has recently finished a degree that explored the different ways that children develop socially and academically?
Was this a topic that inspired you to consider pursuing a career working with young people, perhaps as an Educational/Child Psychologist or Speech and Language therapist?
Would it be beneficial for you to exercise your passionate personality and gain some hands-on experience working with these children to further you in this career venture?
On a mission to find the best up-and-coming practitioners, KPI Education are currently pairing with this exceptional, OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ graded SEN provision school based just a short bus journey from the centre of Merton, South London.
What do you need to be considering for this Graduate SEN Student Mentor role?
- Graduate SEN Student Mentor - Must have a 1st/2:1 in a related degree field
- Psychology, Sociology, CORE subject and Humanities degrees welcome
- An outstanding level of empathy when working with children, especially those with additional needs
- Strong charisma and a creative outlook on how to engage students
- Any experience working with children is sought after but not essential
What does the role of Graduate SEN Student Mentor entail?
Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30 – Easily commutable location – Earn up to £540 per week
This specific school offers the opportunity for you to work with students who have range of additional needs, from ages 3-16. The key focus is to ensure the children in their care are offered equal opportunities to access education that genuinely benefits them.
This ensures every student has the chance to develop the academics and skills they need to thrive in their futures, a service you will help provide as a Graduate SEN Student Mentor.
As a Graduate SEN Student Mentor, you will use your knowledge of complex behaviours and apply them to real-life situations by aiding students that struggle with ADHD, ASD, SEMH and anger management disorders.
In this Graduate SEN Student Mentor role, you will be provided with enriching training, and taught-as-you go to ensure you are fully equipped to strive.
You will focus on creating successful provisions which makes learning more accessible for them, as well as pastorally ensuring they feel heard as they navigate their way through school.
