We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Warwickshire area, committed to providing life-changing opportunities for students with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, and attachment disorders. Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH, ensuring their emotional and academic needs are met
  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour, promoting positive interactions and de-escalating conflict where necessary
  • Assisting in delivering tailored learning activities in a safe and supportive environment
  • Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualised learning plans
  • Encouraging students to develop emotional regulation skills, independence, and resilience
  • Supporting students during practical and classroom activities, ensuring their needs are addressed in a proactive manner
  • Working closely with the pastoral team to ensure students receive the support they need for personal development and well-being

Graduate SEMH Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with individuals who have SEMH, challenging behaviour, or other additional needs (e.g., health and social care, psychology, or similar background)
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and calmly
  • A strong desire to help students overcome personal challenges and achieve their potential
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and support young people
  • Previous experience in roles such as a support worker, care worker, psychologist, or similar would be an advantage
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to think on your feet and adapt to ever-changing situations
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people and supporting them in their journey to success
