Graduate Science Teaching Assistant – The Essentials

  • Full-time, long-term role – Start immediately or from September 2025
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (32.5 hours per week)
  • Weekly Pay: Up to £550 depending on experience
  • Work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in both classroom and small group settings
  • Ideal for graduates with a 2:1 or higher in a Science-related degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or similar)
  • Excellent opportunity for those considering a career in secondary teaching or educational support
  • Prior experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
  • Interviews available immediately

Your Role as a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the science department and SEN team to provide tailored academic support to students who may need extra help. From lab support and lesson prep to mentoring students on a one-to-one or small group basis, you’ll be fully involved in the learning process.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real classroom experience in a secondary setting—ideal preparation for a PGCE, teacher training programme, or further education in teaching or psychology.
