Graduate Science Teaching Assistant

Location: Sheffield – Up to £520 per day

Are you a recent Science graduate, ideally with a Physics specialism, holding a 2:1 or higher from a reputable university?

We are seeking a dedicated Graduate Science Teaching Assistant to join a thriving secondary school in Sheffield. While a Physics specialism is highly desirable, applications from graduates with any Science degree will be considered. As a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Science department to assist in delivering engaging lessons, provide one-on-one and small group support, and help students develop a deeper understanding of key scientific concepts. You will also assist with practical experiments, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in the lab.

Graduate Science Teaching Assistant Role

  • Support Science teachers, with a focus on Physics, in delivering exciting and interactive lessons
  • Competitive salary of up to £520 per week
  • Based in Sheffield, with excellent public transport links
  • Sociable hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Full-time, long-term Graduate Science Teaching Assistant role
  • Provide focused one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them grasp complex scientific concepts
  • Assist in setting up and overseeing practical experiments, ensuring safety and engagement
  • Help students prepare for GCSE exams and coursework, reinforcing their understanding of scientific principles
  • Collaborate with the Science department to develop innovative teaching resources
  • Participate in professional development sessions to enhance your teaching skills as a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant
