Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across various subjects
- Working 1:1 or in small groups with students to help them overcome academic and personal challenges
- Assisting with behavioural support and implementing strategies to promote emotional and social development
- Collaborating with teachers and SEN specialists to create tailored learning plans
- Helping students develop social, emotional, and communication skills to enhance their learning experience
- Promoting positive behaviour and creating an inclusive classroom environment
- Observing students' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Supporting students in managing anxiety, stress, and other emotional needs through psychology-based approaches
Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology or a related field
- A genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Previous experience in an educational setting or working with SEN students is desirable, but not essential
- Strong understanding of psychological principles and a keen interest in applying them in an educational context
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with a range of behavioural and emotional needs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to students
- A proactive attitude and a desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives
- An interest in pursuing a future career in SEN support, psychology, or educational psychology
