An inspiring Specialist School in Sheffield is looking for a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role focuses on providing tailored support to students aged 11–19 with complex and varied needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech and Language Communication Difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges.

The Role:

As a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Earn up to £550 per week
  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of learners, delivering tailored academic and emotional support.
  • Help break down barriers to learning and promote emotional resilience and independence.
  • Collaborate with experienced teachers and therapy teams to implement effective interventions.
  • Engage in sensory-based or therapeutic activities, often designed to meet individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide personal care for students, such as assisting with feeding or toileting, when required.
  • Gain exposure to clinical professionals, such as Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists, to support the holistic development of learners.

About the School:

This specialist school serves a cohort of around 250 students, each with unique needs and capabilities. Facilities include sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and a hydrotherapy pool, offering innovative methods to aid development.   • Hold a degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
