We are looking for a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism at a highly respected and nurturing primary school in Sutton Coldfield. The pupil has no behavioural concerns and simply needs additional academic support and encouragement with his self-esteem. Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing focused 1:1 academic support to a Year 4 pupil with Autism
- Supporting the pupil’s confidence, engagement, and learning in the classroom
- Collaborating with teaching staff to adapt learning materials and strategies
- Encouraging positive routines and celebrating small achievements
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and helping the pupil feel secure and valued
- Assisting with classroom activities and promoting inclusive learning
Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or above in any discipline (Education, Psychology, SEN-related subjects desirable)
- A teaching assistant qualification would be desirable
- A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
- Genuine interest in SEN and supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience with children (voluntary or paid) is beneficial but not essential
- A passion for helping children grow academically and emotionally
