An established Primary School in Wakefield is seeking a dedicated Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to work with children aged 4-11 who have special educational needs. The school is led by a nurturing Headteacher who is committed to supporting learners with ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other complex learning needs. As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to provide tailored support through 1:1 sessions, small-group activities, and whole-class assistance.

Job Specification:

• Full-time Mon-Fri 8:30am-3:30pm
• Work closely with SEN children aged 4-11
• Help support their social, emotional, and academic development to allow them to reach their potential
• Work 1:1, in small-groups, and whole classes to support the needs of SEN children

Ideal Candidate:

• A patient, hardworking Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant from a top UK University with a desire to work with SEN children aged 4-11
• Experience working in school-based settings, with children aged 4-11, or with SEN desirable
• Someone who welcomes being part of a nurturing, dedicated team of friendly, warm staff and students
• Looking for a long-term role lasting at least until the end of the academic year
• Enjoys the prospect of helping children with ASD, ADHD, and other complex SEN thrive
• Available for interview or trial as soon as possible

The Primary School is located in a relatively deprived catchment area, with high levels of complex, acute SEN in children across all ages. Previous experience working in a School, other Primary-aged setting, or with SEN individuals is desired for this role.
