Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification

  • Degree in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or a related field (2:1 or higher preferred).
  • A caring and nurturing personality, passionate about working with children aged 4-11.
  • Strong interest in phonics, literacy, numeracy, and early childhood development.
  • Previous experience in mentoring, tutoring, childcare, or school-based volunteering is desirable but not essential.
  • A keen interest in primary teaching, educational psychology, or child development as a long-term career goal.
  • A driving licence and access to a car is desirable but not essential.

Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant – Job Specification

  • Full-time, long-term Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role
  • Competitive earnings of up to £520 per week.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Provide small-group and one-to-one support in phonics, reading, and numeracy.
  • Help to foster a love of storytelling, problem-solving, and independent learning.
  • Support children in developing confidence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work closely with teachers to prepare resources, set up activities, and track progress.
  • Sociable working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
