Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant
Do you hold a 2:1 or higher in Psychology or a related degree, or do you have relevant Teaching/Childcare/Support Work experience?

A charming 2 FE primary school based in the Blackrod village near Bolton is hoping to attract a compassionate and empathetic recent graduate to deploy in the capacity of a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant. This is a hybrid role, with the morning spent supporting Year 6 children who have Special Education Needs (SEN), and the afternoon spent in the nursery classroom with children in the crucial early stages of development. Any experience working with children or with SEN learners is desirable but not essential.

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll spend the first half of your day supporting SEN learners in year 6, working closely with children who have a variety of needs such as ADHD, ASD, SEMH and more. This is an excellent opportunity to deploy your Psychology degree, or a related degree, in a real-world setting. You will work closely with a forward-thinking senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies to support SEN learners on their academic journey. As such, this Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role is ideal for recent graduates hoping to pursue Educational Psychology, Child Psychology or similar in future.
The second half of your day will be spent working in the nursery, with children who are in the crucial early stages of development. You’ll contribute to fostering a holistic and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive, and receive constant support and guidance from the classroom leader.
