About the Role: Graduate Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and forward-thinking Secondary School and Sixth Form located in Birmingham City Centre. This role involves working closely with students who require additional support, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other challenges.

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Work with students across KS3, KS4, and KS5 in small groups or 1:1 settings.
  • Support pupils with varied learning needs, helping to remove barriers to their progress.
  • Assist in delivering tailored interventions for students with SEN, EAL, SEMH, and more.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt resources and strategies to individual needs.
  • Help students build confidence, improve their academic performance, and develop essential life skills.

Requirements: Graduate Learning Support Assistant

  • A degree in any subject (education, psychology, or related fields are desirable but not essential).
  • A strong interest in working with students who face additional learning challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, proactive approach to supporting pupils.
  • A desire to gain experience in education, particularly in SEN, pastoral care, or inclusive education.
