Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant 

Have you recently completed your degree in a Humanities subject and have ambitions to pursue a career in education?

An exciting opportunity at a well-run secondary school is available for graduates to join their Humanities department as a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant. The school are open to speaking to individuals looking for immediate starts as well as September starts, so if you have recently completed your degree, this could be ideal for you!

Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant:

  • Full-time position until the end of the academic year
  • September starts available for individuals completing their degree this year
  • Earn up to £550 as a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant
  • Secondary school graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, located just outside Liverpool city centre
  • Provide classroom support as well as one-to-one tutoring for struggling students
  • School attainment levels increasing year-by-year
  • Dedicated senior leadership team devoted to making a real difference

Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with delivering engaging lessons in history, geography, and other humanities subjects
  • Support students on a one-on-one or small group basis, helping them to grasp key concepts and improve their academic skills
  • Help create and prepare lesson materials that foster critical thinking and student engagement
  • Encourage students to develop their analytical and problem-solving skills through the study of humanities topics
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to support their development
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and inspired
  • Assist with classroom management and ensuring students remain on task and engaged

Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in a Humanities-related field (such as History, Geography, Politics, Sociology, or a related subject)
  • A passion for teaching and supporting students in their learning
  • Previous experience working with students (desirable but not essential)
  • Fully enhanced DBS check on the update service
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to helping students
  • A genuine desire to pursue a career in education, particularly in the humanities
