Secondary School. Peckham, Southwark – Full-time, long-term – Monday to Friday – £500-£600 per week

This secondary school is looking for a gifted Humanities-based Graduate to join their team in September 2024 to support their students as a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor.

Job Description - Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor

• As Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor 
• Support your Humanities specialism across KS3, KS4 and KS5
• Must be a graduate – 1st/2:1 degrees preferred
• ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ graded Secondary School
• Bespoke development scheme to build your knowledge in the educational setting
• Full-time, long-term position
• Monday to Friday 8:30am 3:30pm
• Available to interview immediately for an immediate start
• Southwark, South London - Accessible transport routes

As a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor, you will encourage productive learning by building strong relationships with your students and using the expertise of your degree.

Your responsibilities as a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor will include general classroom support alongside a dedicated teacher, leading 1-1 and group sessions, as well as general pastoral support. You will aid students from Year 7 through to Year 11, helping them achieve subject excellence.

Your role as a Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor will exceed just academic support. You will use your passion for your chosen subject to inspire the students to become future Humanities graduates themselves, as the school attempts to push their students to strive for excellence in their future.

In the long-term, this school is looking to develop keen future teachers. For an excellent Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor, future opportunities include fully paid teacher training.

A number of previous Graduate Humanities Academic Mentor s have gone on to develop into fully qualified teachers, whether that be thorough paid teacher training or PGCEs.
