Graduate History Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting students in history, helping them grasp key historical concepts and themes
- Assisting teachers with the preparation and delivery of history lessons and activities
- Providing 1:1 or small group support to help students understand historical events, periods, and theories
- Encouraging active participation in classroom discussions and history-related activities
- Helping students with their research, analysis, and critical thinking skills in history
- Collaborating with teachers to assess students' progress and adjust learning strategies
- Promoting students’ enthusiasm for history and fostering a love for learning about the past
- Supporting students in building their confidence and academic self-esteem
Graduate History Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:
- A 2:1 degree or higher in History, or a related field
- A genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically in history
- Strong subject knowledge in history and historical analysis
- Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable, but not essential
- Patience, empathy, and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex historical concepts clearly and engagingly
- A proactive attitude and eagerness to make a difference in students' academic journeys
- An interest in pursuing a career in education, teaching, or educational support
