Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring students are engaged in the curriculum.
  • Supporting students during class discussions and group activities, encouraging creative thinking and effective communication.
  • Helping students with revision techniques and exam preparation, ensuring they are ready for assessments.
  • Encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills, analysis, and a passion for Geography.
  • Supporting classroom management, ensuring a focused and productive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with the Humanities department and other teaching staff to meet the needs of all students, including those with additional learning needs.

Graduate Geography Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

  • A 2:1 degree or higher in Geography, or a related subject.
  • Strong academic background (A-levels/GCSEs).
  • A genuine passion for Geography and a desire to inspire students to achieve their best.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Previous experience in tutoring or educational support is desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a flexible approach to meeting individual student needs.
  • A proactive attitude, with a strong desire to support students in their academic and personal growth.
  • An interest in pursuing a career in education.
