The Role:

A thriving secondary school near central Leeds is currently recruiting for a Graduate English Teaching Assistant to start immediately. The school is also looking ahead to September 2025, with additional Graduate English Teaching Assistant roles available for the new academic year. What You’ll Do as a Graduate English Teaching Assistant:

• Support English teachers with the delivery of engaging Literature and Language lessons.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support, helping students improve their confidence and understanding.
• Work closely with students aged 11–16, including those preparing for their GCSEs.
• Prepare lesson materials and assist in classroom activities as a proactive Graduate English Teaching Assistant.
• Help create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage a love of English in every student you work with.
• Enjoy consistent, sociable hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a dedicated Graduate English Teaching Assistant who:

• Has a 2:1 or First-Class degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject.
• Has a strong interest in education and wants to gain hands-on classroom experience.
• Is enthusiastic about literature and language, and wants to share that passion with students.
• Is dependable, professional, and a great team player.
• May have previous experience in a school or educational setting (not essential).
