Duties:

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their office based in Huddersfield, Heaton Lodge and Ravensthorpe, on a full time, permanent basis.

Role – Senior Quantity Surveyor, Freelance

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with BAM Company policy. Fully understand and participate in the “Your Safety is My Safety” declared vision 
  • Understand and ensure compliance with BAM Company Procedures and Policies.
  • Maintain effective communications with all disciplines within the Alliance and the BAM business
  • Provide commercial contact with supply chain partners were appropriate.
  • Be responsible for identification and re-measurement of change from GRIP 4 design to GRIP 5 design [AFC]
  • Attend and provide input to site commercial meetings, providing advice to the site team with regards to re-measurement / quantification.
  • Manage time and workloads for yourself

Who are we looking for

The following are necessary requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of civil engineering construction processes and working methods
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in measurement and production of bills of quantities, using
    • CESMM
    • MMHW
  • Successful experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level 
  • Be committed to promoting equality and diversity

The following are desirable requirements:

  • To be a Member of CICES or RICS
  • Experience of the Rail CESMM
  • Understanding of construction law and contractual terms in standard contract forms
  • Ability to maintain and enhance client relationships
  • Experience of working on alliance or joint ventures
  • Experience in rail.
  • Experience of ICC / NEC forms of Contract
  • Experience of large civil engineering structures
