Job Title: Electrically Biased Shift Technician (Multi-Skilled) – Engineering
Location: Stockport
Reports To: Engineering Maintenance Manager

About the Role:

Are you passionate about engineering and eager to make a real impact in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a talented Electrically Biased Shift Technician to join our team in Stockport. In this role, you'll be crucial in maintaining and repairing production and site service assets, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring smooth operations across our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement tasks on production, engineering, and site service assets.
  • Work across various shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays, as required by the business.
  • Provide day-to-day electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process maintenance on all production and site assets.
  • Diagnose faults on automated systems using PC and PLCs, and resolve control issues effectively.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve plant asset reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality in your work area and across all engineering services.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, participate in planned maintenance schedules, and ensure spare parts are managed efficiently.
  • Contribute to meetings, sharing insights and striving to enhance plant standards to reach world-class levels.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of engineering apprentices.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies, including Health & Safety.

  • Strong passion for high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Solid knowledge and use of lean methods and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach effectively.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Multi-skilled with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Experience in the food FMCG or equivalent process industry.
  • Electrical qualification and strong IT skills.
  • Ability to interpret documentation in English.
