Duties:

CAD Designer

Location: Fenton

Hours: Monday to Thursday- 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 4pm

Salary: Dependent on experience

Job type: Permanent

 

Role Overview: 

Our client is seeking a motivated CAD Designer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a career in CAD Design, training will be provided.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects
  • Attending project handover meetings as needed
  • Attending site meetings to discuss designs and review site conditions, with or without project managers
  • Participating in design meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss design details
  • Conducting site visits to establish material quantities and gather data for equipment design
  • Using drawing registers and client portals for document control procedures
  • Creating GA/detail and CNC drawings to CAD standards, considering cost-effective materials and design improvements
  • Flagging design/material changes to the commercial team
  • Submitting drawings for approval and review returned drawings for revisions
  • Completing works order sheets and material lists, and communicate long-lead items to purchasing
  • Coordinating obtaining samples and prototypes for approval

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience in 2D or 3D CAD Design
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in using computers and related tools
  • Ability to make design-based decisions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Collaborative team player with problem-solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of mathematics, engineering, and industry standards
