Position Available: Financial Controller
Role Overview:
A growing company is seeking aan account manager to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial systems, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Planning: The Accounts manager will provide valuable financial insights, helping the company meet its financial goals, identify trends, and suggest improvements to accounting systems.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: This role will be responsible for forecasting financial needs, monitoring budgets, and identifying variances to ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the consolidation and analysis of financial data, preparing detailed reports for senior management to inform business decisions.
- Cross-Department Support: This role will assist other departments by interpreting accounting policies and offering insights to resolve operational challenges.
- Maintaining Compliance & Security: Implement internal controls, stay updated on changing regulations, and ensure that the company complies with all legal and industry standards.
- Confidentiality: Ensuring the protection of sensitive financial information will be a priority.
- Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and regulations through training and networking.
- Regulatory Compliance: The role will ensure compliance with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, FCA regulations, and internal procedures.
Specific Duties:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare regular accounts for the Principal and provide accurate updates on the company’s financial position.
- SAGE & Excel Management: Responsible for managing and maintaining the SAGE system and ensuring the integrity of financial data in Excel.
- Management Information: Provide weekly Management Information (MI) to support the Management and Sales teams in meeting business objectives.
- Filing & Reporting: Ensure that all Company House filings are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Capital Adequacy Monitoring: Monitor the company’s capital adequacy to meet FCA requirements, working closely with the Management team to achieve financial goals.
- Expense Review: Oversee staff expense claims and highlight any discrepancies or unusual activity.
- Collaboration with the Team: Will liaise with the Office Manager and Principal to monitor financial performance, assess risks, and address any issues as they arise.
- RMAR Reporting: Assist in the completion and timely submission of RMAR reports to the FCA.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in accounting or financial management, with a solid understanding of FCA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., SAGE, Excel) and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed on industry trends.
