There’s really only one place to start, and end, this week. The CrowdStrike software update that has floored airlines, healthcare, supermarkets and banks as well as Microsoft, Sky TV and much more.

The breathtaking events of early morning Friday 19 July have demonstrated more clearly than ever before that businesses large and small need to invest adequately in technology personnel. Our global IT, connectivity infrastructures and, seemingly, the ease with which they work, are a huge strength for humanity. But our reliance on them is a considerable weakness.
